My Golf Gremlin, a fictitious business name operating in Contra Costa County, California ("we," "us," or "our"), operates the My Golf Gremlin website and app and the MHodgen Golf coaching pages (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, described below.

1. Information We Collect

  • You provide: account details (name, email), profile information, round data (scores, handicaps, players, photos of scorecards), course information you submit, and messages you send us (including coaching inquiries).
  • Automatic: device and browser information, IP address, basic usage data, and information stored in cookies or local storage (such as your session and offline round data).
  • Third-party sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and avatar from Google.
  • Images: scorecard photos you upload are stored in our secure cloud storage and may be processed by AI to extract course and score data.

2. CCPA Categories

Identifiers, customer records, internet or network activity, inferences drawn from the above, and audiovisual information (scorecard photos).

3. How We Use Information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Perform scoring and side-game calculations and store your round history.
  • Authenticate you and protect your account.
  • Respond to coaching inquiries and provide customer support.
  • Send transactional emails (account, security, and round-related notifications).
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing

  • With other players via shared rounds or shareable links you create.
  • Service providers who help us run the Service (cloud database and authentication, email delivery, AI processing of scorecard images) under contracts that restrict their use of your information.
  • Legal requirements or in connection with a business transfer.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI models beyond the limited image-to-text extraction needed to digitize scorecards you upload.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

6. Your Rights (California Residents)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to request correction, to opt out of certain disclosures, and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. Submit verifiable requests to hello@mhodgengolf.com. We will respond within 45 days, with one 45-day extension where permitted.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it.

8. International Users

Your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to that processing.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Email Communications and Unsubscribe

We send transactional emails necessary to operate the Service (for example, password resets, security notices, and shared round notifications). Marketing emails, if any, include an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out requests promptly.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy and will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
